The Fuel In My Tank!
In my last blog I talked about the
“5 Lies That I Believed” and how that affected my view of what God was calling me to.
You can read it by clicking here:
But this time I want to focus on that ONE IMPORTANT QUESTION that I answered…and now it’s your turn to answer!
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE KNOWN OR REMEMBERED FOR?
Maybe you want to be known for being a great mom, an encourager, or for your integrity. Maybe having a good work ethic or a great teacher! Only you can answer that question!
When I answered this question that I wanted to be known for being FAITHFUL, the course of ACTION that I would need to take became clearer and I was able to make decisions that lined up with that desired outcome!
Being faithful in every area of my life
is the fuel in my tank each and everyday
in the way that I began to order my days!
I can tell you that:
*It keeps me going on the days when I fail to follow through!
*It allows me to experience and give grace on days when I am dealing with illness!
*It gives me peace when I have to deal with urgent things that have interrupted the rhythm of my day!
*It refreshes my perspective as I plan out my day!
*It energizes me and keeps me moving forward on the days that I get it right!
I believe the same thing is true for you as you begin to order your life in a way that reflects your answer to that ONE QUESTION! It will become the fuel in your tank!
Because I may be only a few steps ahead of you, here are some practical questions for you to consider and answer to help you begin to walk it out! You can copy and paste them into a document and print them out or, you can write them down on another piece of paper and answer them.
1 - THE BIG QUESTION: What do I want to be known or remembered for?
Here are some words to help get you going:
compassionate, kind, loyal, integrity, loving, diligent, resourceful, faithful, etc.
2 - At the end of the day, what matters the most to me?
(God, marriage, children, work, friends, church, politics, etc.)
3 - What action steps am I going to take to back up my decision?
(What do I need to say no to?)
4 - What results am I hoping for?
These were the same questions that I answered, and then went a step beyond and shared them with my accountability partners. I knew that every Friday morning at 6:30 am at Denny’s restaurant over coffee and eggs, I was going to be asked how I was doing in them. I was grateful that I could trust them to ask me the questions, but what I was missing was the someone who was a few steps ahead of me to guide me with their wisdom and walk with me awhile.
At that time in my life I didn’t have a mentor to share my call, my decision, and my action steps with. That is one of the things that inspired me to start Living A Lovesong as a Mentoring Membership! I needed someone to believe in me when I didn’t believe in myself, encourage me when I needed it, challenge me when I blew it, teach me from the truth, and pray for me as I walked it out.
This is the great joy and privilege that I have with Living A Lovesong Membership! I have designed a Success Path to mentor with teaching, tools and training based on the things that have impacted my life and kept me focused on what I wanted to be known and remembered for! And I love to share them with others!
If you are like me and value the relationships in your life, let’s take hold of the opportunity to know God better, grow together, share with each other, and serve one another! It is my goal to help you get to the place where you can say, believe and live the following statements!
have a steady, growing, and unshakable faith in me to guide me when the storms of life come (I know they will come!)
be a source of strength, support, and encouragement for my husband that will build a strong marriage
be an example and a guide for my children in the foundation of their faith to equip them for their future.
be an encouragement and to be able to invest in others.
